The Gippsland Cricket League (GCL) competition includes a men’s, women’s and Under 18’s fixture, and serves as a platform for skilled CLV cricketers to showcase their talent against fellow Gippsland teams.

First staged in 1922, VCCL's Melbourne Country Week has long been considered the pinnacle for regionally-based Victorian cricketers.

Each year, up-and-coming junior cricketers from the Latrobe Valley are encouraged to try out for the League’s Peter Siddle Squad.
